The Mayor of Thetford, Councillor Terry Jermy, and his Consort Corinne Fulford will officially open the new Thetford SMBC on 6th January at the Charles Burrell Centre at 7pm. Terry Jermy was born in Thetford in 1985 and was first elected to Thetford Town Council at the age of 22 in a by-election in July 2008. Since then he was re-elected in 2011 and 2015. Terry has also served on Breckland District Council since 2011 and on Norfolk County Council since 2013. Terry is believed to be the youngest Mayor in Thetford’s history, taking over the role at the age of 30. Norfolk Short Mat Bowls Association President Brian Saunders will represent the Association at the grand opening of Norfolk’s newest club.
