East Tuddenham took a 15-9 first leg lead into their Bure Cup quarter-final second leg clash at Thorpe Marriott. The first session gave the impression that they would go on to win with ease as Simon Willies’ triple beat Kath Frost 8-1 and Melvin Woods’ triple beat George Clarke to increase their lead to 19-9. This turned out not to be the case though as Thorpe Marriott made home advantage count reeling off five wins out of the next six games to cut the deficit to 21-19. The penultimate session was shared but with East Tuddenham up on shots Thorpe Marriott needed to win the last two games. The visitors had other ideas though and an 8-1 win for Rob Howlett’s triple and an 8-4 win for Simon Willies finally clinched the win and a semi-final tie against Woodbastwick. The other semi-final will be between Kirby Bedon and the winners of the Halvergate v Horsford BC match.
