Early season City League action

Horsford BC are the defending champions in the City of Norwich League but this season the other teams have two Horsford BC teams to contend with. Horsford have named their two teams Horsford Gold and Horsford Blue and played each other first to start their respective campaigns. Horsford Gold beat Horsford Blue 14-0 in the first game and added a 12-2 win in their second to top the table. Last season Deaf Sports finished in the runners-up spot and they already occupy the same position after wins in their opening matches. A 14-0 win at home to Taverham and an 11-3 away win at Jarrolds make it a solid start for Deaf Sports. Horsford Heroes opened with an 11-3 home win against Framingham Earl at their St Faiths venue but then lost by the same score-line at First Bus. Windows were beaten 10-4 at home by British Rail and a 12-2 defeat at Costessey added to their woes. A very close match at County Council saw the home side emerge with an 8-6 home win, 41-40 on shots, against Thorpe Marriott. It is sad to see the demise of Sprowston SSC after many years playing in the City of Norwich League.
