Horsford Gold are on top of the City of Norwich League after a big 14-0 win on points, 79-19 on shots, at home to a Costessey side that has slipped to seventh in the table. Tracey Whiskerd, John Bugg & Craig Quantock won 21-5, Sally Bates, Steve Beckett & Christine Walsgrove won 24-8, Barbara Ayers, Philip Cotton & Ray Ayers won 20-2 and Christine Warnes, Brian West & Mick Dale won by 14-4 as the visitors failed to get to grips with the difficult home mats. Thorpe Marriott are second in the league after a 12-2 home win against First Bus but it was a close call with only one point separating the two sides at the end. In a league that’s rewards the winners on over-all shots with six match points, First Bus will have been disappointed to lose by the narrowest of margins. Tony Turner, Derek Sheldrake and Robin Amos all skipped their Marriott triples to wins but the biggest win of the night was a 19-4 result achieved by Lianne Mills, Matthew Mills & Ryan Fox of First Bus. Jarrolds won 12-2 at Horsford Blue with Mike Smith, Lyn Couzins & David Higgins leading the way with a 16-8 win.
