The third place play-off was won by Linda Smith & Ivan Lunn who beat Chantal & Lawrence Ireland with an end to spare. The competition was played in two groups of fifteen pairs with each group winner qualifying for a place in the final and the two group runners-up competing in the third place play-off. Paula & Julian Scales scored 25 points out of 28 to win their group in style with Linda Smith & Ivan Lunn second on 21 points. Just missing out on 20 points were David Aldous & Andy George and Gill & Russell Davidson.
