Thetford Castle have won the Summer Afternoon League finishing four points clear of second placed Banham. Thetford Abbey came in third five points adrift of Banham. Thetford Castle wrapped up their season with an 8-2 home win against Harling to leave them on 71 points. Chris Piper, Kate Crawshaw & Peter Harvey led the way with a 15-6 win backed up by Kelsey Suffolk, Brian Jermy & Chloe Suffolk with a 10-7 win and Trish Cooke, Mike Burrows & Kacy Suffolk with a 13-12 win. This left Banham needing at least nine points from their last two fixtures at Harling and at Watton if they were to snatch the title but a 6-4 defeat at Harling and an 8-2 loss at Watton left them short of their target. Captain Peter Harvey and talented sisters Kacy, Chloe & Kelsey Suffolk played all twelve matches in the campaign. Other Thetford Castle players to play a part in their success were Vice-Captain Bill Smith, Linda Dixon, Kate Crawshaw, Trish Cooke, Allen Sutcliffe, Brain Jermy, Suzanne Jenny, Dave Brown, Dave Bourne, Chris Piper, Colin Piper, Steve Calder & Mike Burrows.
