Thorpe Marriott’s last City League match of the season saw them produce a 14-0 home win against Jarrolds that moved them past First Bus into the runner-up position in the league. First Bus still have a match left but that is away to champions Horsford Heroes where they would need to win by a minimum of 12-2 to snatch second spot. Pat Hall, Richard Moore & Robin Amos top scored for Marriott with a 21-7 win while Tony Turner’s triple won 14-12, Derek Sheldrake’s triple won 14-4 and Gerald Potter’s triple won 12-7. Horsford Gold won the first leg of their City Shield semi-final against Windows by 6-2. Craig Quantock’s triple won 25-4, Chris Walsgrove’s triple won 17-4 and Ray Ayres’ triple won 16-7 while Mark Tuttle was Windows only winning skip with a 14-12 scoreline.
