Norfolk a mile ahead in I.C.C Group 4

Norfolk won by an impressive 32-8 points margin, 251 shots to 150, against West Mids Bears in Solihull today and now lead their group by a mile in the Inter-County Championships. Norfolk collected eight out of ten points in each of the four disciplines winning the bonus points in all four sections. In the singles Wymondham’s Chris Mann won both his games by 13-11 & 19-11. Maximum points were also earned by Wymondham’s Debbie Sparham & Jack Pye in the pairs with wins of 11-10 & 21-8. Sid Burton of Harling, Karl Newby of Carleton Rode & Simon Willies of Watton Expendables won both their triples games by 14-11 & 17-10. In the fours Jack Gray of Bob Carter, Chloe Suffolk of Thetford, David Lamb of Halvergate & Gary Best of Bob Carter easily won their games by 16-3 & 23-3. Norfolk’s next match is scheduled to be played on the 23rd November away to Cambridgeshire. Today’s result leaves West Mids Bears, effectively West Mids A, without a win after three games and with just 42 points while Norfolk have now collected 104 points from a possible 120 after three games. The battle for second place in the group is set to be a close race between West Mids Bears, Northants and Cambridgeshire with Norfolk looking unbeatable in this group. Two other teams dominating their groups are Dorset Dynamos in Group 1 and West Mids Phoenix in Group 8.
