Wins for defending champions in Bure & SNL

It is now four straight wins from four games for defending Bure League champions Bob Carter and it looks like they will take some stopping in their quest to retain the title in this tough league. Following their 8-2 away win at Hevingham two nights earlier they did even better on their trip to Watton Expendables where they collected all the points with a 10-0 maximum win. Young star Alfie Woods was leading for Morgan Warnes and AJ Pye and they romped to a 23-6 win against Robin Amos’ triple and Jean Woods, Nigel Willard & Jason Woods won 18-11 against George Hume’s home triple. Gavin Gray, Jack Gray & Gary Best had to work hard for a 13-10 win against Simon Willies’ triple while Simon Warnes, Melvyn Woods & Jack Pye beat Jack Marshall’s triple by just 14-13. Defending South Norfolk League champions Hempnall recorded an 8-2 home win against Saxlingham Nethergate after heavy wins in three of the four games. Kerry Greenacre, Ray Lamb & Keith Cooke won by 20-5, Paula Cooke, Jack Gray & Neil Davidson won 21-9 and Colin Stevenson, Joan Cann & Paul Baker won 18-8. Robert Howlett’s triple picked up the visitors two points with a 19-15 win.
