Defending Bure League champions Bob Carter began their season with a 7-3 home win against Watton Expendables. A big 26-2 win for David Knights, Melvin Woods & Jack Pye made sure of the match points while Jean Woods, Nigel Willard & Jason Woods won by a comfortable 14-5 margin. Alfie Woods, Morgan Warnes & AJ Pye are normally firm favourites to win on the Drayton mats but were held to a 12-12 draw after a strong performance by Watton’s Pix Hyam, Chloe Suffolk & Chris Willies. Expendables will be pleased with a 19-13 win for Elaine Willies, John Jeffery & Robin Amos which ensured an improvement on last season’s 9-1 defeat at Carter. In the Waveney League Bradwell won by 5.5 points to 3.5 points away to Carlton.
