Halvergate lead after Bure Cup Final 1st Leg

Halvergate entertained East Tuddenham in what became the first leg of the Bure Cup Final after the planned first leg at East Tuddenham was called off due to covid concerns the previous week. A perfect start for the home side saw Jason Woods’ triple beat Chris Willies 6-4 while David Lamb’s triple beat Robin Amos 10-1. The away side hit back straight away though with Simon Willies’ triple edging out Ryan Fox’s triple by 7-5 while Robert Howlett’s triple won 7-3 against Simon Warnes. After a shared third session left the game level at 6-6 Halvergate moved back in front with two fourth session wins as Ryan Fox beat Robert Howlett 6-5 and Simon Warnes beat Simon Willies by the same margin. The last two sessions were both shared leaving Halvergate taking a 14-10 points lead, 68-56 on shots, into the second leg at East Tuddenham which is yet to be arranged. For Halvergate Jason Woods, David Lamb & Ryan Fox all skipped their triples to two wins out of three while Simon Willies’ triple did likewise for the visitors.
