Good times for Thorpe Marriott

City of Norwich League title contenders Thorpe Marriott are two points clear at the top after a 12-2 home win against Windows. Another defeat followed for Windows as they lost 11-3 at Jarrolds. Horsford Heroes showed good form winning 10-4 away to Costessey while British Rail’s season continued to improve with a 12-2 win at Taverham. Bure League action saw Thorpe Marriott win 8-2 at home to Hevingham with Jenny Walker, Mandy Marshall & Ted Griffin beating David Sharpe’s triple 22-5. Hevingham’s only win was gained by Pat Williamson, Pat Hall & Steve Hall who won by 20-12. Hingham entertained Diss in the top of the table clash in the Winter Afternoon League with the visitors Diss coming out on top. A 6-4 away win for Diss moves them seven points clear of Hingham in the table after Graham Atter, Morris Taylor and Terry Newby produced an excellent 17-4 win against Wendy Tweed, Cyril Cole and Graham Tweed.
