Trevor Winter makes debut for Taverham

Two wins for Horsford Gold put them top of the City of Norwich League, they won 12-2 at Jarrolds and 10-4 at home to Horsford Heroes. Costessey won 12-2 at British Rail but lost 10-4 at home to Windows. Trevor Winter made his league debut for Taverham as they beat Horsford Blue 12-2. There was more “Singing the Blues” as visitors Jarrolds also inflicted a 12-2 defeat on Horsford Blue. East Tuddenham won their opening Bure League match 8-2 at Thorpe Marriott in a successful start to their campaign. Chris Turner, John Turner & Simon Willies won 18-8 in the evening’s biggest win while Kath Frost’s triple scored Marriott’s only win of the night. In the Waveney League Broome’s 6-3 home win against Haddiscoe put them top of the table but Earsham are level with them on points after winning 8-1 at home to Ilketshall. One point behind the leading pair are Wortwell who lost 5.5 – 3.5 at Carlton. Diss are top of the Winter Afternoon League. They won 10-0 at home to Shropham Red with Terry Newby’s triple beating Sheila Bragg 17-8 and Graham Atter’s triple beating Richard Stevens 16-8. The trip to Thetford went less well for Diss where they suffered a 6-4 defeat. Jean Gardner, Mick Colledge & Peter Harvey beat Graham Atter’s triple 17-7 while Caralyn Walker, Chloe Suffolk & Kieran Suffolk beat Bill Francis 16-8. Both Terry Newby and Trish Taylor skipped their triples to wins for Diss but the match points went Thetford’s way courtesy of a 50-40 overall shots score-line.
