Terry Newby wins 16-6 for Diss

SNL action saw Diss win 6-4 at home to Horsford with Terry Newby’s triple winning 16-6. Hempnall won 10-0 at home to Harling with David Blundell’s triple winning 25-7, Paul Baker’s triple winning 24-5 and Neil Davidson’s triple winning 23-6. Hempnall followed this up with a 10-0 home win against Diss with Bernie Cudden, Jack Gray & Paul Baker winning 24-2. Tony Turner’s triple won 32-3 and Kath Frost’s triple won 23-6 as Thorpe Marriott beat Windows 8-2 in the Bure League. In the Breckland League Wymondham look certain to retain the title as they won 10-0 at Hingham. Second placed Connaught “A” lost 7-3 at Harling Unicorns but Thetford won 6-4 at the same venue. Banham were held to a 5-5 draw at home to Forncett. Broome are one point ahead of Wortwell at the top of the Waveney League after beating Earsham 6.5 to 2.5 while Wortwell beat Ilketshall by 5.5 to 3.5. Bradwell beat Carlton 8-1 while Kessingland lost 6-3 at home to Haddiscoe. In the City of Norwich League Horsford Gold suffered a surprise 9-5 home defeat against County Council but won 12-2 at British Rail. Taverham won 12-2 at home to British Rail while Horsford Heroes beat Thorpe Marriott 12-2. Costessey won 12-2 at home to Horsford Blue but lost 10-4 at Thorpe Marriott. Harling Hawks beat Forncett 8-2 in the Winter Afternoon League with Stuart Langridge winning 19-4 and Derek Ryder winning 19-7.
