Wymondham back to winning ways

After suffering two recent defeats Wymondham sent out the signal that they are still favourites to retain the Breckland League title. Pat Saunders, Simon Warnes and team captain Debbie Sparham won 29-3 at Shropham as Wymondham won 10-0 on points. Forncett entertained Carleton Rode in a match between two of Wymondham’s main rivals with the home side just edging the match by one shot to win 6-4 on points. Neil Davidson’s Carleton Rode triple won 29-3 while Karl Newby’s triple added an 18-13 win but it was not quite enough to deny Forncett victory. Tony Ottewell’s triple won 29-9 and Rebecca Humphrey’s triple won 24-12 as Forncett celebrated a hard-earned win. Carleton Rode kept their title hopes alive with an 8-2 away win at Hingham  where  Karl Newby’s triple won 28-6. Harling Unicorns enjoyed a 10-0 away win at Banham with June Kendall, Daphne Braham & Mike Tarrent winning 25-6. Connaught “B” scored their second win of the campaign beating mid table Thetford 8-2, which in view of Thetford’s form this season will be viewed as a surprise result. Connaught’s biggest win was a 17-8 result by Moira Eades, Ann Bayes & Joan Knox.
