Breckland & Tens League latest

In their first game after the Christmas & New Year break Connaught “A” collected maximum points at Banham to move top of the Breckland League. Lee Fallows’ triple won 31-8, Bob Oatway by 26-13, Richard Harrison by 21-14 and Sheila Bragg by 17-9 as Connaught’s win moved them five points ahead of Wymondham but the defending champions have a game in hand over the Attleborough based side. Shropham moved off the foot of the table with an 8-2 home win against mid table side Forncett. Tens League action saw Bob Carter win 4-0 at Connaught. All four games started well enough for Connaught, and they led in the early stages on all four mats, but only until Carter found line and length on Connaught’s slow mats. Bob Carter then took control of the proceedings and went on to collect a well deserved win and maximum points. In the pairs games Jason Woods & Simon Willies won 24-8 and Jamie Forster & Gary Best won 19-16 while in the triples Jean Woods, Nigel Willard & John Turner won 16-9 and Elaine Willies, Steve Bridge & Melvin Woods won 24-9. The result moves Carter one point clear of Hempnall at the top of the table.
