Norfolk “A” clinched victory away to Cambs in the I.C.C with a good final session in what was a tight match. The first session was shared with David Blundell winning 17-7 in the singles and Joan Costello & George Clarke winning 12-8 in the pairs. The second session was also shared with Norfolk’s wins provided by Jean Woods, Ray Lamb & Terry Newby by 13-10 and Angela Bond, Steven Lamb, Mick Boswell & Bob Oatway by 12-10. Cambs won the third session by 5-3 but just enough shots were gained by Norfolk to earn the bonus points in both singles and pairs. John Jeffery won 15-6 in the singles while Mike Smail & John Jarvis drew their pairs game 10-10. Norfolk moved up a gear in the final session to win three of the four games. Terry Newby’s triple won again, this time by 9-8. Bob Oatway’s rink won again, this time by 9-6 while Jill Hayman, David Sharpe, Steve Easter & Graham Mobbs won by 18-3 to earn the bonus points in the fours while Cambs collected the bonus points in the triples. Norfolk “A” can now focus on playing in the knock-out stages of the competition after winning all six of their group games.
