An 18-9 win for Ryan Fox, Ray Lamb & Robbie Lamb led the way for defending Bure League champions Halvergate as they won 8-2 at home to Thorpe Marriott. Margaret McPherson, Mandy Marshall & John Jarvis collected Marriott’s only win beating Mike Tate, Morgan Warnes & Keith Cooke 13-9. East Tuddenham beat second placed Hevingham 10-0 with Albert Palgrave, Chris Turner & John Turner winning 18-6. Tuddenham also won 10-0 at Horsford BC where John Turner’s triple won 27-4. Horsford BC did better at home to Windows winning by 8-2 with Barbara Russell, Ray Ayers & Bob Burrage winning 18-9. In the Bure Cup Halvergate progressed through to the next round after winning 15-9 at Hevingham in the first leg and winning by 18-6 on their own mats. Hempnall are top of the South Norfolk League after a heavy 10-0 home win against Hingham. Colin Stevenson, Roger Parker & Neil Davidson top scored with a 25-6 result against John Hunter’s triple while Bernie Cudden, Rob Cranston & Jack Pye weighed in with a 23-13 win. Second placed Connaught beat Diss 7-3 but overall it was a close game at Attleborough with total shots finishing level at 50 each. Terry Newby’s triple won 17-11 for the visitors to share the match points while for Connaught Mike Minshull won 13-11, Owen Secker won 15-14 and Sheila Bragg won 11-8. Thorpe Marriott continue to top the City of Norwich League as they beat Sprowston 12-2. County Council beat First Bus 12-2 to make it five wins from seven games. Framingham Earl suffered two home defeats going down by 12-2 against County Council and 11-3 against First Bus. Breckland League action saw Carleton Rode again in great form winning 10-0 at Shropham while in a local derby Harling Griffins won 6-4 at Harling Unicorns. Defending champions Wymondham also won 8-2 at Harling Unicorns while Forncett won 10-0 at home to Banham. Shropham suffered a 10-0 home defeat against Harling Griffins. Norwich Cup action saw Connaught “A” win 11-5 at Horsford BC with Di Quadling, Derek Liles & Owen Secker winning their games by 13-9 & 11-5. Jack Marshall & Lee Fallows were also unbeaten with a 6-4 win and a 7-7 draw.
