With August now with us the Friendly Afternoon League table is topped by Thetford Castle followed by Thetford Abbey just three points behind them. But lurking in third place, with one game in hand over Castle and two games in hand over Abbey, are Banham. Banham kept up the pressure on the top two this week with a 7-3 home win against Hingham. David Aldous, Carol Trevelyn & Barry Osborne led the way with a 14-5 win while Joe LiRocchi’s triple added a 10-6 win. League leaders Thetford Castle recorded their sixth win of the campaign winning 6-4 away to Harling. Kacy Suffolk, Brian Jermy & Chloe Suffolk won 15-8 against Colin Hayman’s triple while David Brown, S Hardy & David Bourne won by 15-10 against George Hume’s triple. Thetford Abbey also produced a win on their own mats beating Watton 6-4. Caralyn Walker, Mike Holbrook & Jason Martin were in sparkling form with a 19-2 win against D Braham’s triple and Peter Scarborough’s triple added a 13-5 win against Carole Cole. Other recent results saw Shropham score a 6-4 home win against Hingham and Watton win 6-4 at home to Hingham.
