Wymondham have been confirmed as Breckland League champions once again after Connaught “A” went down 6-4 at Carleton Rode. To give themselves even a remote chance of overhauling Wymondham at least six points were needed by Connaught “A” but Carleton Rode earned the two match points scoring 58 shots against Connaught’s total of 51. Rode’s David Hall, David Kerslake & Karl Newby did the damage with a 21-7 win aided and abetted by Jill Davidson, Russell Davidson & Trish Taylor who won by 16-12. It is unlikely, but Thetford still have a mathematical chance of finishing in second place after winning 7-3 away to Harling where Erika Thomas, Peter Scarborough & Neil Thomas won 17-11. Other results saw Connaught “A” beat Connaught “B” 10-0 in their local derby while Forncett won 6-4 at Connaught “B”. Forncett star Becky Humphries racked up another great win beating Peter Walker’s triple 25-6. In the Bure Cup Watton Expendables eased their way to a 4-0 away win at Hevingham. Jack Marshall’s Watton triple conceded five shots on the opening end against Richard Moore’s triple but hardly put a foot wrong after that as they stormed to a 25-8 win. Brian Turner’s Hevingham triple beat Simon Willies’ triple 16-10 in the other first half game to leave the visitors eleven shots up at the break. The second half games were both won by Expendables with George Hume’s triple winning 20-8 and Robin Amos’s triple winning 16-11. Hempnall’s South Norfolk League title challenge continued with a comfortable 10-0 away win at near neighbours Saxlingham Nethergate. Kerry Greenacre, Alan Stafford & Keith Cooke led the way with a 25-6 win against Peter Cook’s triple while Jack Gray, Paul Baker & Charlie Archer skipped their other three winning triples. Coastal Cup action saw Group B leaders Bradwell Dynamos win 10-8 at home to second placed Woodbastwick Owls. Group A leaders Woodbastwick Eagles won 14-4 at home to Bradwell Robins.
