Breckland League results this week saw defending champions Wymondham continue on their untroubled journey to another league title. Visitors Shropham, like all teams who visit Wymondham, know what the home side is capable of and it was no surprise when the North Wymondham based side scored over a hundred shots in a league match for the fourth time this season. The match finished 10-0 on points, 109-39 on shots, in favour of the home side. Top scoring triple on the night were Robin Frost, Simon Warnes & Jon Sparham who won 28-7. Mary Fisher, Jack Marshall & Chris Mann won by 27-7, Val Vardy, Melvyn Barker & AJ Pye won by 29-13 and David Chadwick, Debbie Sparham & Jack Pye won by 25-11. Second placed Connaught “A” were too strong for visitors Hingham and recorded a 10-0 points win, 75-37 on shots. Elaine Willies, Roy Taylor & Simon Willies were Connaught’s star turn winning by 27-3. Bob Oatway’s triple added a 17-12 win, Paul McDonald’s triple won 14-12 and Mike Minshull’s triple won by 17-10. Forncett pulled off a surprise 6-4 away win at Carleton Rode winning three of the four games. But a big 18-4 win for Rode’s David Hall, David Kerslake & Karl Newby secured the match points to limit the damage. Forncett’s wins came from Giuseppe Li Rocchi’s triple with a 14-11 result, Ron Butler’s triple with an 11-10 win and the talented Becky Humphries and her triple who won 14-12.
