Expendables enjoy great second half

Watton Expendables recovered from a first half deficit to record a solid 3-0 home win against Hevingham in the Bure Cup. Home triple Andy Rawlings, Kacy Suffolk & Chris Willies opened with a 15-6 win against Brian Turner’s triple but Hevingham’s Jenny Walker, Steve Easter & Selwyn Goldsmith won by 20-7 against Simon Willies’ triple to give the visitors a four shot interval lead. In the second half Expendables Joy Townsend, Rob Howlett & Robin Amos proved too hot to handle for Melvyn Barker’s triple as the home triple won 17-6. On the other mat Elaine Willies, Pix Hyam & home captain Jack Marshall found themselves involved in a tight game against Hevingham’s Marjorie Hall, Val Easter & Jane James with the score level at 7-7 after nine ends. But the home side kicked on strongly from there winning the last six ends to record an 18-7 win.
