Norfolk Over 60’s enjoyed their annual Christmas Meal at the Clocktower Restaurant on Wednesday where they all tucked into a three course Christmas meal. A surprise presentation to Norfolk Over 60’s Organiser Teresa Goldsmith saw her receive a handmade model of herself lovingly created by Colin and Jill Hayman of Harling and presented to Teresa by them following the meal. Everyone agreed that it was a superb work of art that Colin had put hours of work into after both he and Jill had painstakingly studied even the black hairclip that Teresa wore to include that into the unique piece of work. Colin's impressive design also incorporated Teresa wearing the brand new Norfolk Over 60's top and badge! The next day Norfolk Over 60’s met at Hingham Sports Club for their final squad day before Christmas. Teresa congratulated the group for their superb efforts throughout the year that had seen them capture all the shields in the challenge matches they had played. Teresa also thanked Cynthia for all her work running the kitchen on squad days and presented Cynthia a gift on behalf of the group. Over 60’s Captain Steve Easter and his wife Val then thanked Teresa on behalf of the Over 60's bowlers and presented her and Selwyn with a fabulous basket of fruit and wine to show their appreciation. Just a reminder that every registered short mat bowler aged 60 or above is welcome to attend the fortnightly Squad days held at Hingham Sports Centre where you will receive a warm welcome before play commences on the ten mats. For just £5 you can enjoy a morning of short mat bowls, which consists of three games of nine ends, as well as teas, coffees and biscuits all included. Just arrive about 9.30am to book on with Teresa for a 10am start. Squad days in January will be held on the 1st, 15th and 29th.
