Halvergate kept their Bure League title hopes on track with a 10-0 away win at Hevingham. In the opening half Hevingham’s Pat Williamson, Steve Easter & Marjorie Hall started well against Donna Lamb, Jamie Forster & Ryan Fox to lead 6-2 after six ends but Fox’s triple took control after that and won eight of the next ten ends to win 20-9. Halvergate’s Mike Tate, Lianne Mills & Robbie Lamb took five shots on the opening end against Melvyn Barker’s triple and went on to win 18-11. After the break Halvergate’s Tracey King, Mervyn King & David Lamb and Hevingham’s Paul Speak, Pat Hall & Richard Moore were still level at 7-7 after nine ends before the visitors took seven shots over the next three ends on their way to a 15-10 win. The remaining game was also tight up to the eleventh end with Halvergate’s Kerry Greenacre, Ray Lamb & Keith Cooke leading Pat Saunders, Lesley Turner & Brian Turner by just 12-10. But again the visitors finished in style winning the last four ends to record a 19-10 win. With two home games left to play, against Watton Expendables and defending champions Bob Carter, another exciting end to the Bure League season could be on the cards.
