Norfolk score 40-0 maximum against Cambs

Norfolk entertained Cambridgeshire in their Inter-County Championship match and completely destroyed the opposition by winning the match 40-0 on points and 307-101 on shots. There is currently a huge difference in class between the two counties county sides and this was demonstrated as Norfolk won every game in all four disciplines. Wymondham’s Chris Mann was in great form in the singles winning his games by 27-10 and 28-3 while Halvergate’s Ryan Fox won his games by 15-6 and 20-10. Jack Marshall & Jason Woods were untroubled in the pairs winning by 17-8 and 14-8. Norfolk’s other pairing, Debbie Sparham and Jack Pye of Wymondham, won their opening game 17-8 and won their second one by 17-12 after pulling back from 5-12 down. More big wins came Norfolk’s way in the triples as Neil Davidson, Morgan Warnes & AJ Pye won 16-3 and 21-6 and Sid Burton, Karl Newby & Simon Willies won 20-3 and 18-9. Norfolk’s Fours produced four big wins as Kacy Suffolk, George Hume, Simon Warnes & Jon Sparham won their first game by 20-2 and followed that with an 18-6 win in their second game. Jack Gray, Chloe Suffolk, David Lamb & Gary Best won their first game by 23-3, and with Gavin Gray coming in for David Lamb in their second game, they added a second win of 16-3. Next Sunday Norfolk face much stiffer opposition in the form of West Mids away from home but will carry much confidence into the match following this result. Looking back at last season Jack Pye was named the Player of the Year for Norfolk Premier while Mike Smail was awarded Player of the Year for Norfolk “A”.
