The City of Norwich League season kicked off with a bang as last year’s champions Horsford Heroes entertained last season’s runners-up Thorpe Marriott. It proved to be a good start for the defending champions as they produced a 12-2 home win to get their title defence off to a great start. Horsford Gold also got off the mark winning 12-2 at Jarrolds where Christine Warnes, Brian West & Mick Dale won 14-9. First Bus opened with a 12-2 home win against Costessey with Steve Hall’s triple winning 14-5. Horsford Blue struggled last season finishing at the foot of the table and could be in for another difficult season as they lost their opening match 12-2 at home to Windows. Pat Williamson, Paul Brock & Mark Tuttle were on form for the visitors winning by 25-4.
