Horsford Heroes, relegated from Summer League Division One last season, remain top of Division Two despite slipping to a 6-2 defeat away to second placed Hingham. If they are to make an immediate return to the top flight these are the type of away games when they need to produce at least enough to earn a draw. Hingham started well winning on both mats in the first half. Keith Thomas, Graham Tweed & Wendy Tweed will be pleased with a 14-7 win against Roger Frank’s triple while Eileen Herbert, Trevor Curry-Smith & Reg Wilson beat Peter Fox’s Horsford triple 12-10 in a close contest. After the break Pauline Wilson, Pat Groombridge & Cynthia Powell made sure of a home win beating Chris Woodhouse and his triple 15-13. A consolation win was secured for the visitors by Richard Hart, Sue Fox & Jane James who beat Will Townsend 11-8 with Jane James proving once again that she is a difficult opponent to beat both home and away. Third placed Forncett came from behind to earn a 4-4 draw away to Windows, their second draw in a row. The home side looked set for a win early on as Mick Harris, Mally Woodhouse & Keith Halford beat Linda Preece 15-7 and Brenda Sizer, Pam Daynes & Diane Boswell beat Peter Lock’s triple 13-12. After the break though it was a different story as Forncett moved up a gear taking two good wins. Keith Humphreys, Tony Ottewell & Martin Humphreys stormed to a 21-6 win against Mick Boswell’s triple while Jan Smail, Mike Smail & Peter Lock beat Keith Halford’s triple 15-8.
