Norfolk Over 60’s entertained Cambs Seniors at Hingham for the second leg of their challenge match protecting an eight point lead from the away leg at March IBC. The home side made a good start winning six of the opening eight games and drawing one which increased their aggregate lead to eighteen points. Their early wins included a high scoring 19-8 result for Pat Saunders, Pat Hall & Tony Ottewell, a 16-2 win for Richard Moore, David Aldous & Richard Broad and a 13-1 win for Kerry Greenacre, Colin Hayman & Selwyn Goldsmith. Cambs settled more into the match in a drawn third session but Norfolk further increased their lead in session four winning three of the four games. Session five proved a good one for the visitors as they returned the favour with three wins although the match was out of reach by this stage. The final session was drawn with two wins apiece. Norfolk’s Billie Barker, Lesley Turner & Melvyn Barker chalked up their third win of the day with a 9-7 result to follow up their earlier wins of 9-8 & 11-8. The final score on the day was 29-19 to Norfolk Over 60's on points, 234-187 on shots. As always with these two teams everyone enjoyed a great day of bowls and are already looking forward to the first of their next two match challenge. This will be staged at March IBC on Thursday 6th Febuary 2025 with the second leg back at Hingham Sports & Social Club on Thursday 6th March.
