First Bus beat Horsford Gold to move top

Horsford Gold suffered their first defeat of the season as they were beaten 10-4 at First Bus in the City of Norwich League. The win took First Bus to the top of the table and made it six wins from seven games. Di Quadling, Lianne Mills & David Sharpe opened for First Bus with a 16-4 win while Ray Ayre’s triple replied with an 11-8 win for Gold. After the break Lesley Crowe scored an 11-5 win for the home side while Gold’s Morgan Warnes skipped her triple to a 14-7 win. The six match points were collected by First Bus courtesy of an overall 41-34 shots advantage. In a good week for First Bus they also won 12-2 away to Jarrolds where Steve Hall’s triple won 16-5, David Sharpe’s triple won 15-7 and Lesley Crowe’s triple won 15-10. British Rail won for the first time this season beating Horsford Blue 12-2. Carol Johnson, Pat Baker & Caroline Banham led the way with a resounding 19-2 win. Thorpe Marriott maintained their good form with a 10-4 home win against Costessey as Janet Pinchen, Lydia Kettlewell & Tony Turner won by 19-6, they are now in second place just one point behind First Bus although they have played one game more. Taverham drew 7-7 at home to Windows where both teams finished with two wins apiece and the total shots level at 38-38. Taverham were seven shots up at the break but a 16-5 win for Maureen Dease, Pat Williamson & Mark Tuttle ensured a share of the points.
