Great results for Horsford Gold & Harling Griffins

Defending City of Norwich League champions Horsford Gold reeled off successive 14-0 maximum wins in their pursuit of yet another City League title. Ray Ayers skipped his triple to identical 20-3 wins at Windows and at home to top of the table Thorpe Marriott as well. With Barbara Ayers at lead, and Steve Beckett at number two, Ray’s triple were top scorers at home to Thorpe Marriott. Barbara and Ray also achieved the same result at Windows with Terry Raisbury playing in the number two position. Costessey’s Cynthia Powell, Beryl Ottewell & Sheila Bragg won 17-2 as their side won 14-0 at home to Taverham. The other three games were all close with Mike Otteway’s triple winning 9-7, Graham Tweed’s triple winning 12-9 and Will Townsend’s triple winning 13-9. In the Breckland League Harling Griffins made it four wins from four games to move eleven points clear of defending champions Wymondham. The Griffins earned a maximum 10-0 home win against Connaught with Loretta Smith, John Davis & Paul Hyam reeling off an impressive 24-7 win with the home side scoring a total of 83 shots against Connaught’s 47. George Hume’s triple will also be pleased with a 20-10 win.  Carleton Rode won 6-4 at Hingham in a close match that saw both teams record two wins apiece. Carleton Rode earned the two match points with a 54-49 shots advantage as Graham Mobbs, David Blundell & Neil Davidson won 20-9 and Mike Newby, Tony Oram and Terry Newby won 15-7. Hingham’s two wins were for Joy Townsend’s triple by 16-6 and Graham Tweed’s triple by 17-13.
