World Cup awaits Willies & Woods

The ESMBA Open Pairs competition has been won by Norfolk’s Chris Willies & Jason Woods which has earned them the right to represent England in the next World Cup. In the final they defeated the talented pairing of Alex Kley & Sam Harvey by 8-7. In the semi-finals Willies & Woods found themselves in an all Norfolk encounter against Wymondham’s Jack Pye & AJ Brown with a tight game won 7-6 by the Halvergate and East Tuddenham pairing. In the quarter-finals Chris Willies & Jason Woods had beaten North Yorkshire’s Lawrence Moffat & Lee Toleman 9-5 while Jack Pye & AJ Brown had beaten Emily Thomas & Jack Knight 9-7. Norfolk’s Morgan Warnes & Gary Best qualified for the last 32 stage where they were defeated 13-3 by Alex Kley & Sam Harvey.
