Summer Afternoon League leaders Thetford slipped to a narrow 6-4 defeat at Harling. Thetford finished well in the second half with wins for Chloe Suffolk’s triple against George Hume and Jason Martin’s triple against Colin Hayman, but wins for Roger & Daphne Braham’s triples in the first half earned Harling a 6-4 home win as Harling scored 56 shots against Thetford’s total of 42. The result left Thetford five points clear of second placed Hingham and with one game in hand. Hingham also lost 6-4 at Harling despite Sheila Bragg’s triple winning 14-9 and Graham Tweed’s triple winning 12-5 in a strong first half display. The second half saw Harling overhaul the visitors as George Hume’s triple won 13-9 and Colin Hayman’s triple won 14-3 to secure the two bonus points by 41-38 on shots. Hingham collected a valuable 8-2 home win in their previous match at home to Harling. Graham Tweed’s triple led the way for Hingham with a 19-3 win while Mike Ottaway won 17-4 and Sheila Bragg won 13-6. Sid Burton’s triple scored Harling’s only win with a 12-6 result.
