Gary Best, representing City League champions Horsford Gold, lived up to his name and reputation as he lifted the City League Singles title in the final hosted by First Bus at their Aylsham Road venue. Up against Best in the final was Mick Dale, who had won his group with two wins, but the former England champion powered his way to the title with an 8-1 win. In the group stages Gary Best beat fellow Horsford bowler Ray Ayres 9-2 before recording a 10-0 win against Thorpe Marriott’s Tony Turner. The finals night of the City League Pairs was hosted by Thorpe Marriott and once again Gary Best finished as the champion playing with Morgan Warnes to clinch another title for Horsford Gold. In the final they faced Jarrolds pair Sheila & Steve Andrews who kept the game tight losing by just 5-4.
