Breckland League

Harling Griffins are the early pacemakers in the Breckland with two wins. Griffins won 9-1 at home to Connaught “B” with Christine Breeden, Jill Hayman & Sid Burton winning 32-5 while Colin Hayman’s triple won 21-11 and Paul Hyam’s triple won 23-7. They added an 8-2 away win at Thetford with Christine Breeden, Jill Hayman & Glenys Hume winning 35-5. Connaught “A” won by 6-4 at home to Carleton Rode. Derek Liles, Roy Taylor & Bob Oatway won 17-14 ably supported by Lee Fallows’ triple with a 13-11 win and Mike Minshull’s triple with a 13-12 win. Neil Davidson’s Carleton Rode triple earned four points for the visitors with a 23-10 win. Connaught “A” fared less well at Harling Unicorns where they were defeated by 6-4. Rosie Beckford, Chris Jones & Ian Beckford starred for Unicorns with a 21-10 win. Shropham won 8-2 at Connaught “B” where Pat Godbold, Peter Walker & Bob Townsend won 20-6. Connaught’s only win of the night was a big 32-12 win for Val Hambling, Steve Judd & Mark Watson. Carleton Rode won a close game 6-4 at home to Forncett with Karl Newby’s triple leading the way with a 22-8 win.  

Bure Cup

Hevingham made home advantage count in the first leg of their Bure Cup match against Horsford BC as they established a 22-2 points lead to take into Monday’s second leg at Horsford’s Sandy Lane venue. Pat Williamson, Teresa Goldsmith & Selwyn Goldsmith won their games by 9-2, 11-3 & 15-1, Chris Brooks, Craig Quantock & Jane James won by 7-2, 6-3 & 9-1 and Nigel James, John Wade & Marjorie Hall won by 4-3, 7-1 & 10-1. Richard Moore, Pat Hall & David Sharpe won games by 14-0 & 5-4 after losing their opening game 8-4 against Horsford’s Janet Seaton, Ernie Mills & Dennis Seaton.

City League

Horsford Gold head the table after a 14-0 maximum win at home to Horsford Heroes and a 12-2 away win at Jarrolds. Second placed First Bus lost 9-5 at Thorpe Marriott.

South Norfolk League

Hingham top the SNL table after winning 8-2 at home to Forncett. Ann Stevenson, Peter Gidding & Joy Townsend’s 15-9 win for Hingham was the biggest of a night that produced four close games. Saxlingham Nethergate got a win under their belts by a narrow 6-4 margin at Harling despite home skip Mike Tarrant winning 24-10.

Winter Afternoon League

Thetford won 8-2 at home to Shropham Red. Colin Piper, Caralyn Walker & Jason Martin won 11-5 while Clive Eke & Chloe Suffolk’s triples both won by one shot. Jill Davidson, Trish Taylor & Russell Davidson starred for Diss with a 16-3 win against Hingham while Terry Newby’s triple won 12-7 and Tony Oram’s triple won 14-13.
