In an all Irish final in Belfast Joe Beattie lifted yet another major title as he beat Alan Paul 7-5 in the final. Peter Roberts of England won the Plate Comp beating Ireland’s Robbie Foster 8-6. Kieran Evans of Wales won the Shield Comp with a 13-5 win against Ireland’s Paddy McElvaney. Norfolk’s David Blundell qualified for the Plate competition but went down by 13-4 against Robbie Fowler in the first knock-out round. The next SMPT event is the Norwegian Open on the 22nd & 23rd October at Skien Fritidspark followed by the World Fours Masters and the World Pairs Masters on the weekend of 26th & 27th November at Falcon Bowling Club in Essex. The World Masters will take place at Belfast IBC on the 22nd & 23rd April 2023.
