Team of three pairs Competition

Interested in a short mat bowls competition with a difference then sign up to a team of three pairs competition. The competition is based on the format of the Aussie indoor premier league. The event is open to all Norfolk registered bowlers and will take place at Hingham Sports and Social Club on 20th February 2022 with a sign in time of 9.00am. Closing date 3rd February 2022.

Format

Limited to 16 teams. Two groups of 8. Round robin top two teams from each group into semi-finals. 8 mats so everyone playing at the same time i.e. 4 games per session.

Winner group 1 plays runner up group 2.

Winner group 2 plays runner up group 1.

Final between two winners and a 3rd and 4th play off with cash prizes available.

Entrance fee £5 per player.

Rules

Each team will consist of 3 bowlers.

Each match played in 2 sets of 5 ends each.

If the jack goes off the side of the mat it is re-spotted on the front of the jack line (short jack length).

In each set every team player must play at least 2 ends.

Players can sub in and out whenever they like as long as it is at the start of an end

There will be a powerplay available once each set for each team. The powerplay must be announced before the start of the end. Both teams can call a powerplay for the same end. Any shots scored by the team playing their powerplay will be doubled for that end e.g. a 2 becomes 4 and a 3 would be 6

If at the end of the game it finishes 1 set all players will play a 1 bowl triple end to see who wins. Touchers do not count so any bowl that touches the jack and ends in the ditch will be removed from the mat.

ESMBA rules will apply apart from the above.
