Halvergate in Bure Cup driving seat

Thorpe Marriott gave visitors Halvergate a tough match in the first leg of their Bure Cup Semi-Final clash but a good last session put Halvergate in the driving seat. They take a 13-11 points lead back to their home venue where visiting teams tend to struggle. Thorpe Marriott started well winning both first session games as Mandy Marshall, Ted Redwood & John Jarvis beat David Knights, Simon Warnes & Ryan Fox 5-4 and Ted Griffin, Roger Ringer & Tony Turner beat John Norfolk, Ray Lamb & Robbie Lamb 8-1. After three sessions Thorpe Marriott held a 7-5 points lead and shared fourth and fifth sessions meant that their two point lead was still intact going into the sixth and final session. But the home side were unable to maintain their advantage as Kerry Greenacre, Keith Baker & Keith Cooke stormed to a 13-0 win against Tony Turner’s triple and Robbie Lamb’s triple snatched a one shot win against Tony Oram’s triple.
