In the Bure League, last season’s runners-up East Tuddenham began their campaign with an excellent 9-1 away win at Thorpe Marriott. Elaine Willies, Rob Howlett & Melly Woods (pictured) beat Kath Frost’s triple 22-5 in the biggest win of the night while Chris Mann’s triple won 12-11 and Joe Brown’s triple won by 12-9. John Jarvis’s triple held Simon Willies to an 8-8 draw for the home side’s only point. In the South Norfolk League Horsford Heroes won their second match by the same margin as their first. This time Saxlingham Nethergate were their visitors as the Heroes recorded another 7-3 win. Winning skips were Roger Frank who beat Geoff Payne 13-12 and Chris Woodhouse who beat Alan Banham 25-2. Saxlingham’s Geoff Briggs hit back with a 12-11 win against John Aggas while Horsford’s Vic Webster drew 10-10 against Sheila Hook. Diss won 8-2 at home to Shropham with Ann Biddulph, Angela Bond & Graham Atter leading the way with a 25-8 win. Nolan Newbury’s triple earned the visitors two points beating Russell Davidson’s triple 15-8.
