Ten straight wins had left Horsford Gold miles clear at the top of the City League but that proud run came to an end at St Faiths where Horsford Heroes inflicted an 11-3 defeat on the leaders. Costessey are in second place after a 14-0 home win against Thorpe Marriott and a 10-4 away win at British Rail. Bottom of the table Horsford Blue fought hard at Windows but still went down 14-0 on points. Framingham Earl won 11-3 at Taverham leaving Taverham with just one win in thirteen this season. Deaf Sports collected a maximum 14-0 home win against mid table Jarrolds. In the Bure League Horsford BC ended their poor run of six defeats in style with a 10-0 home win against Horsford Heroes. Christine Bugg, Ted Griffin & John Bugg got the games biggest win beating Les Chadwick’s triple 19-12 while Paul Isgate’s triple won 14-10, Pauline Strivens’ triple won 13-10 and Terry Raisbury’s triple won 16-14. In the South Norfolk League Harling won 8-2 at home to Connaught. The biggest win of the night was a 24-8 victory by Linda Chilvers, Chris Jones & Nigel Battley. In the Winter Afternoon League top of the table Hingham beat Harling 10-0 with Wendy Tweed, Sally Rawnsley & Keith Thomas winning 26-2 while Reg Wilson, Andy Rawnsley & Pauline Wilson won 23-3. Second placed Shropham lost ground on the leaders as they went down 8-2 at Thetford where Chris Piper, Chloe Suffolk & Kieran Suffolk beat Richard Broad’s triple 20-3. Its still tight at the top of the cross border Waveney League which consists of five Norfolk clubs and three Suffolk clubs. Broome remain top after a 5.5-3.5 win away to Haddiscoe. Carlton Colville are second, and 6.5 points behind, after a 7-2 home win against Ilketshall. Third placed Earsham lost ground after being held to a 4.5-4.5 draw at home by Kessingland. The weeks other game saw Wortwell win 5-4 at home to Bradwell. In the Norwich Cup the star studded Bob Carter team won all eight games at Framingham Earl for a 16-0 win. Robert Howlett & Simon Willies won 13-4 and 15-2 and Morgan Warnes & Gary Best won 11-7 & 14-1. In the triples Elaine Willies, Steve Bridge & Jason Woods won 15-4 & 11-4 and Nigel Willard, John Turner & Melly Woods won 7-5 & 9-4. Nigel Willard is pictured.
