Bob Carter booked their place in the semi finals of the Challenge cup with a 13-7 win at Hempnall. The opening singles session saw Hempnall stunned as two giants of singles play came together as Bob Carter's Gary Best eased to a 13-2 win over Neil Davidson both of which have six Norfolk singles titles between them. Jason Woods also inflicted damage claiming an 8-8 draw against Hempnall legend Roger Parker. The fours were the shining stars for Carter as Jean Woods, Steve Bridge, Rob Howlett and Simon Willies beat Lewis Cranston, Joan Cann, Dave Blundell and Gerald Chilvers 9-3 while Elaine Willies, Nigel Willard, John Turner and Melvin Woods beat Kerry Greenacre, Owen Cranston, Rob Cranston and Paul Baker 12-5 to give the away side a massive 9-1 first half win. Just a single win was required in the second sesion but Carter had to wait as both Carter players in the singles were beaten as Davidson beat Woods 19-4 and Parker beat Best 10-4. The comeback was only half complete however as Carter completed a 100% record in the fours as Willies beat Baker 9-2 and Woods beat Chilvers 8-5.
