SNL – Hempnall top the table

Hempnall top the SNL table after an 8-2 home win against Wreningham but only five shots separated the teams at the end. Hempnall’s Kerry Greenacre, Chris East & Rob Cranston won their opening game 14-9 but Terry Thorpe, Ray Kidd & Tyrone Musk inflicted a rare home defeat for a Hempnall triple in the SNL as they beat Colin Stevenson, Roger Parker & former Kirby Bedon captain Gerald Chilvers 16-11. Hempnall won both second half games but by narrow margins as Paul Baker’s triple won 13-11 and Charlie Archer’s triple won by 13-10. Connaught has got back to winning ways in the SNL with an 8-2 home win against Shropham. Sheila Bragg’s triple led the way with a big 28-7 win while John Court’s triple earned the visitors only win beating Jack Marshall’s triple 12-9.

BRECKLAND LEAGUE – Connaught “A” turn up the heat

Connaught “A” really turned up the heat against Forncett with all four home triples recording big wins. Owen Secker won 25-8, Richard Harrison won 29-7, Lee Fallows won 22-9 and Bob Oatway’s triple won by 25-6. Harling Griffins won again beating Hingham 9-1 with George Cody’s triple winning 22-10.  

BURE LEAGUE – Halvergate maximum

David Lamb’s triple romped to a 33-4 win at home to Horsford BC while Robbie Lamb won 18-12, Jason Woods won 19-7 and Keith Cooke won by 20-8 as Halvergate took all ten league points.

COASTAL LEAGUE – Defending champions win opener

Coastal League defending champions Woodbastwick Owls opened their campaign with a 15-3 away win at Martham. Last season’s runner-ups Woodbastwick Eagles drew their opening match 9-9 at Bradwell Dynamos but beat Hemsby Harvesters 14-4 in their first home match. Bradwell Dynamos completed  home and  away wins against Bradwell Robins in their local derby encounters beating them 14-4 & 12-6. The local derby in Hemsby saw the Beachcombers beat the Harvesters 14-4.
