Cambs Seniors crash Steve's Birthday Bash

Norfolk Over 60’s slipped to a narrow defeat at Hingham as Cambridgeshire Seniors won a tight match by two points to complete a 50-46 aggregate win in their two leg challenge match. With Norfolk Over 60’s captain Steve Easter celebrating his birthday he would have been hopeful of Norfolk overcoming the two point deficit from the first leg at March IBC, but an identical 25-23 result left the visitors celebrating instead. Never-the-less it was another great day of bowls enjoyed by both sides in a jovial mood as always. The match started well for Norfolk with three wins from four games in the first session to leave them 29-27 ahead on aggregate. But the visitors hit back with a vengeance in the second session winning all four games. That set the pattern for the day with the Norfolk triples playing in sessions one, three & five picking up seventeen points against Cambs total of just seven. But the four Norfolk triples playing in sessions two, four & six found points hard to come by with Cambs collecting eighteen points against Norfolk’s six. Norfolk’s Di Quadling, David Quadling & Bob Oatway were in super form winning all their three games by 8-6, 13-9 & 13-3.
