None of the City of Norwich League title contenders were in action this week but there was still plenty of league action taking place. Horsford Blue entertained Horsford Gold in a local derby which saw Gold achieve their third 14-0 maximum of the season. Barbara Russell, Mike Doddington & John Bugg starred with a 20-6 win for Gold while recent signing Craig Quantock skipped his triple to an 11-7 win in a tight game against M Pegg’s triple. Ray Ayres triple added a 12-1 win and Mick Dale’s triple won 14-8. Jarrolds recent upturn in form came to an abrupt end at fourth placed Windows where the Hevingham based team won 14-0. Di Halford, Keith Halford & Dianne Boswell top scored with a 21-5 win. John Wade’s triple won 17-2, ex County Council bowler Nigel Hurn and his triple won 19-10 and Mark Tuttle’s triple won 13-10. British Rail earned their fourth win of the campaign beating visitors Costessey 11-3. Doreen Scarf, Rodney Brock & Mark Baker will be pleased with a 14-5 win while Caroline Banham’s triple won 16-9.
