Watton’s Rob Howlett & Jack Marshall played without a number two but still achieved an excellent 18-12 win against Brian Turner’s home triple while Elaine Willies, Kacy Suffolk & George Hume stormed to a 21-2 win against Marjorie Hall’s triple. Hevingham’s wins were produced by Aleck Haynes, Pat Hall & Richard Moore who beat Gillian Amos, John Jeffrey & Robin Amos 18-11 while Pat Williamson, Paul Speak & Selwyn Goldsmith beat Pix Hyam, Chloe Suffolk & Simon Willies 14-12.South Norfolk League action saw Watton Expendables collect a maximum 10-0 home win against Saxlingham Nethergate. Will Townsend, Kacy Suffolk & Chris Willies led the way with a 21-5 win against Ady Forder’s triple. Their other winning skips were Jack Marshall with a 12-11 win, Simon Willies with a 17-8 win and Chloe Suffolk with a 16-12 win. Forncett won 6-4 at home to Mulbarton with Nigel Youngman, Kevin Noble & Mark Watson securing the match points by beating Martin Pegg’s triple 17-7. Connaught “B” entertained Wymondham in the first leg of their first round Breckland 5 Pairs match. The visitors started as firm favourites and won all five games and take a 49-28 shot lead into the second leg at Wymondham. Wymondham’s biggest win was an 11-4 result in favour of Billie Barker & Chris Mann against Peter Hambling & Joan Knox. Hayley Osborne & John Jeffery won 10-4, Steve Easter & Debbie Sparham won 10-5, David Chadwick & Jon Sparham won 9-7 and Simon Warnes & Melvyn Barker won 9-8.
