Bowlers arrived at Potters Resort in Hopton-on-Sea in Norfolk today for the Potters Short Mat Pairs event with play starting tomorrow morning. Marie Kitchener & Ivan Lunn of Derbyshire won the event last year and will be keen to repeat their success while North Yorkshire’s Paul Whitcombe & Arthur Jackson will be equally determined to improve on last years runners-up spot. Norfolk’s Kerry Greenacre & Trish Taylor led for much of last seasons competition until a poor last day saw them slip down to fourth place, they will also be keen to do better this time. Carol & Bob Taylor of Essex finished third last year and they are back as well looking to finish higher. Another pair hoping to do well are Norfolk’s George Hume and Suffolk’s Michael Rice who have paired up for the first time.
