The first National Championship Finals of the season were held at Solihull IBC, two Norfolk fours were in action having qualified for the National Mixed Fours. Norfolk 1 comprised of Thorpe Marriott’s Jenny Walker playing with Donna Lamb, Ryan Fox & David Lamb of Halvergate. Norfolk 2 were Shropham’s Elaine Aberdeen, Chris Bailey, Richard Broad & Andy Rawnsley. Norfolk 1 did not start the day well going down by 13-3 to Oxfordshire 1 and a 7-5 defeat to Herefordshire 2 left them with no chance of progressing out of the group. They did finish the group stage with a win beating Kent 2 by 9-8. Norfolk 2 also failed to qualify from their group with losses of 13-2, 14-4 & 5-4. The winners on the day were Essex 3 comprising of Maureen Binstead, Linda Lambert, Steve Killington & Anthony Fautley who beat Gloucestershire 1 in the final.
