Wymondham savage another visiting team in their biggest win yet

Wymondham made it twelve wins from twelve games as they scored their biggest win of the season so far. Four huge scorelines again demonstrated by just how far this star studded side are ahead of everyone else in the Breckland League and possibly every other team in Norfolk. Their visitors on this occasion were Hingham who arrived at Wymondham with just two wins from eleven games and the outcome was inevitable. Billie Barker, Jack Pye & AJ Brown stormed to a 46-4 win, Debbie Sparham’s triple won by 40-6, Jon Sparham’s triple won by 34-8 and Chris Mann’s triple added a 30-5 win. With just four games to play Wymondham are now 39 points clear of second placed Harling Griffins, who pulled off a 6-4 away win at Connaught, and nothing will stop them chalking up yet another title. Forncett are still third despite going down 6-4 at Thetford where Jason Martin’s triple won by 22-7. Harling Unicorns won 10-0 at Shropham with Mike Tarrant’s triple winning 26-5.

Bure League action saw defending champions Halvergate remain unbeaten with an 8-2 home win against Hevingham. A tight first half saw Joan Costello, Teresa Goldsmith & Selwyn Goldsmith beat Donna Lamb, Steve Hall & David Lamb 12-11 in a tremendous game that went to the wire while Jackie Smith, Steve Lamb & Jason Woods kept the match level at the break with a 19-7 win against Melvyn Barker’s triple. The second half saw the champions win on both mats as Ryan Fox won 14-10 and Kerry Greenacre, Ray Lamb & Keith Cooke romped to a 36-3 win. SNL leaders Hempnall dropped points at Harling where the home side won by 7-3 on points with the shots tied at 52-52. Horsford Heroes won 8-6 away to Taverham in the City of Norwich League and move up into third place.
