Norfolk "A" match against Worcs called off

The Norfolk “A” match against Worcestershire, that was scheduled to take place as a “double fixture” at a neutral venue, has been cancelled. The Bridgman Bowls Club had been booked as the venue for the match on Sunday 15th October but we understand that Worcs are unable to raise enough players for the Inter-County Championship match to take place. This is another blow to the I.C.C group that Norfolk “A” are set to play in as Essex “A” withdrew from the competition prior to a bowl being played. Currently this leaves Norfolk “A” with just two games to play in their group, a home match against West Mids “A” on the 5th November and an away game against West Mids on 12th November. At this time we understand that a decision by the ESMBA is yet to be made over whether the Worcs match will be re-arranged or points awarded. Whatever the decision, critics of the I.C.C and those who have questioned the credibility of the I.C.C in its current form, will once again call for changes. Norfolk Premier play their opening match against Suffolk on 15th October at Suffolk's home venue. This match is also set to take place as a “double fixture” with Norfolk Premier’s home match being played on the same day in Suffolk.
