Wymondham move top after huge home win

Wymondham moved top of the Breckland League this week with a massive home win against Shropham and also have a game in hand over their closest rivals Connaught “A” and Carleton Rode. Wymondham amassed a phenomenal total of 134 shots against just 18 against visitors Shropham to make it eight straight wins in the league. Shropham, who began the match with only one win from their eight matches played, knew that they had an almost impossible task on their hands and so it proved to be. Wymondham's top scoring triple were Hayley Osbourne, John Jeffrey & Chris Mann who won 37-3. Also winning by 34 shots were Steve Easter, Simon Warnes & Debbie Sparham who won by 36-2. Val Vardy, David Chadwick & Jon Sparham won 34-7 and Billie Barker, Jack Marshall & Jack Pye added a 27-6 win as Wymondham move on towards what looks another inevitable title win. Thetford picked up their third win of the campaign beating Harling Unicorns 8-2 in a mid table clash. Kate Crawshaw, Peter Scarborough & Chloe Suffolk top scored winning 26-17. Fourth placed Forncett found Harling Griffins in determined mood and the visitors won two of the four games played. But Forncett collected the two match points for a 6-4 win as Tony Ottewell’s triple made the difference with a 21-9 win.
