Wymondham win Breckland with two games to spare

With two games to spare Wymondham are once again Breckland League champions. Carleton Rode completed their fixtures with a solid 8-2 home win against Harling Unicorns which left them still a point behind Wymondham. A 10-0 win would have kept Carleton Rode’s title hopes alive but even then the chances of Wymondham losing their last two games by 10-0 are as remote as a snowdrift in Norwich in the middle of August. Connaught “A” finished third and in their last match of the season beat Harling Unicorns 8-2. The Unicorns are assured of fourth position in the league while Forncett have finished fifth. Harling Griffins finish sixth after an 8-2 home win against Hingham. The two bottom clubs in the league met with Banham winning 6-4 at home to Shropham.
